Township is home to the Tamarack Nature Center and Bald Eagle Lake, has the largest population of all 1,800 townships in the state. It is a developing community, with several acres of developable land available. The 2000 U.S. Census population for the Township is 11,293. The 2000 U.S. Census population is 19.8% greater than the Township's 1990 U.S. Census population count of 9,424. The Township staff estimates the 2004 population to be approximately 11,800. Industry within the Township is also expanding, with the Meadowlands shops on the northwest corner of Highway 96 and Centerville Road. Water Gremlin, the nation's largest maker of fishing sinkers, resides in the Township. Schwing America Inc., who manufactures concrete pumps, is the largest employer in the Township.
